LEARN AND GROW

We Provide ...

You can count on Whitsunday Montessori to not only meet, but exceed all your needs and requests. Learn more about the services we provide below, and let us know if you’d like to learn more about a specific offering.

At Whitsunday Montessori we understand the need to check if the teaching approach is right for your child. With this in mind, we do book single lessons. Once you are committed, keep in mind when booking classes that progress takes time and consistency. One lesson, or large gaps between sessions, is of limited effect. Whereas, once or twice a week classes for a term or semester, usually gives far better results. Always set your child up for success.

The greatest sign of success for the teacher ... is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'

BAMBINO PICCOLO

Tuition for 2 to 3 Year Old Children

Due to popular demand, we now offer classes for 2 to 3 year old children. These sessions focus upon: developing independence; order; sensory and practical exploration; movement; and language. These are great classes for younger siblings, as they can be run along-side  sessions for older children, offering parents and care givers opportunity to attend and cater to all their children at the same time. These classes prepare children for later learning whilst at the same time are run within a safe setting appropriate to the age of the children.

CASA DEI BAMBINI

Tuition for 3 to 5 Year Old Children

These  pre-school classes cater to children from 3 to 5 years of age. They follow a traditional Montessori curriculum, covering: Practical Life; Sensorial; Language; Mathematics; and Cultural Education. These classes are based upon a play group model, where an adult usually attends the session with the child. Parents and care givers who attend these sessions are free to interact with their child in the classroom as little or as much as they like. It is also a great time to form friendships with the other adults who attend.

We also offer a kindergarten program specifically preparing children for  school. Our Kindergarten Program is flexible and is designed to suit the needs of most families, including those in remote locations. You may choose for your child to attend our Montessori Kindergarten sessions at the centre, implement a Montessori program at home that has been specifically planned for your child, or you may wish to combine the two options. We also provide online Kindergarten lessons and parent support.

CLASSE PRIMARIA

School-Aged Tuition

Our classes for primary school aged children focus mainly upon improving knowledge, understanding, motivation and confidence. We use both the Montessori and the Australian Curriculum to develop our programs. Although not essential to the program implementation, parents and caregivers are also encouraged to become involved in these classes, and to use the time to network with other adults. We offer group classes and private tuition, according to need. Our classes aim to make learning fun and successful.

EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANCY

Expert Service

Our consultancy sessions are generally for adults, although in many instances children may attend. We offer an initial free session for parents or care givers upon enrolment to discuss needs. This takes approximately 30 minutes, covering both program planning and an explanation about how you can, if you wish, work with the materials and your child in the classroom. Often these meetings are simply an informal chat about your child and your family needs. As your child progresses, further meetings may be required in order to develop and implement your child's learning program. Our aim is to support your child's development along every step of the way.
